Geographic location: Its distribution ranges from 32°43'N to 06°00' in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
habitat and biology: It is found in waters of the continental platform of pelagic and demersal habitat, forming schools near the bottom, it is found between 10 and 80 meters deep. It feeds on small fish and crustaceans. It is not included in the IUCN Red List.
